Pastor Stephen Travis Robinson, I is a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas. He is the fifth and last child born January 27, 1971, to Pastor Emeritus Ulysses Robinson, Jr. and the late First Lady Emeritus Lee Ella Robinson. Pastor Stephen has three brothers; Pastor Ulysses Robinson III, Vincent Robinson, Bishop Kenneth L. Robinson, Sr., and one sister, Sonja Washington.

Pastor Stephen accepted the call of God to preach in 1996 at the age of 25. He was a faithful servant under the leadership of his father, Pastor Emeritus Ulysses Robinson, Jr. and in 2004 was elevated to Assistant Pastor.

 

August 17, 2009, Stephen was graciously appointed as Pastor of the New Zion Grove Baptist Church. September 20, 2009, the torch was passed from his father, Pastor Emeritus Ulysses Robinson, Jr. to Pastor Stephen. Stephen was then installed as Senior Pastor and Visionary of the New Zion Grove Baptist Church. Pastor Stephen has served in this capacity for 15 years and under his leadership New Zion Grove has grown spiritually, numerically, financially, and structurally with extensive renovations to the Sanctuary, a new Administrative Wing, and additional parking including securing land surrounding the edifice for additional expansion.

 

January 30, 2020, New Zion Grove Baptist Church officially became New Zion Grove Worship Center based on John 4:23-24 where we worship God in Spirit and in Truth along with our Vision Statement, “Top-Level Worship for a Top-Level God!” Educationally, Pastor Stephen has earned his Associate, Bachelor, and Master of Theology degrees from Slidell Seminary School in Slidell, LA. He has also received numerous certificates from Christian seminars and conferences nationally. Musically, Pastor Stephen also has a rich background which began at the age of three singing with the Robinson Family, which consisted of his father, mother, brothers, and sister. In his late twenties, he became a member of the national recording group, “Purity” also known as the “Smooth Gentlemen of the Gospel”.

 

He later joined the national quartet group, “Bishop Kenneth Robinson and Chosen” where he was a faithful member and songwriter. In 2017, Pastor Stephen took a leap of faith to pursue his dream of releasing his own music. On July 5, 2018, God blessed him to produce and release his first EP entitled “A New Chapter”. The cd topped the charts on the Billboard Top Gospel Album Sales at number 7, number 24, and number 30 which landed him several music awards and nominations. On January 29, 2020, Pastor Stephen released a new single entitled “Alright” which is the preview to his upcoming project entitled “Still Have My Smile”! Pastor Stephen is married to the jewel of his life, Lady Kahla Nichole Robinson and they are blessed with three sons - Maurice (Desiree), Kahlil (Tureana, Kelli, & Lyric), and Stephen II, and one daughter, Skyye; all of whom are unique, creative, and gifted by God in their own way along with their newest addition to the family, Grand Princess ~M’Ri Milan
